TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE. THIS IS A DIPTYCH EXHIBITION. SOME THINGS PAIR EFFORTLESSLY BECAUSE YOU CAN’T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER. WHILE OTHERS PAIR TOGETHER SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE OPPOSITES NEEDED TO EXIST. SHOW US YOUR DIPTYCHS.

DROP OFF: FEBRUARY 3-4

ART RECEPTION: FEBRUARY 9, 6PM-8PM

PICKUP: MARCH 1

Eligibility and Conditions: Artists may enter up to three pieces of art. All mediums are accepted. All art must be original and created within the last 5 years. Reproductions and prints will not be accepted. We reserve the right to reject art not suitable for our audience. All art must be for sale. All art accepted into the show must remain in the show for the duration of the show unless sold. Items removed from the show early will incur a $100 gallery fee.

Size: Artwork over 36 inches in height or width will be considered oversized and will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. All hanging artwork must weigh under 20 lbs. Installation art will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All freestanding artwork must weigh under 50 lbs. All artwork must be able to fit through a 33” x 80” door.

Presentation: All artwork must appear finished. Works must be framed or gallery-wrapped and wired for hanging to professional standards. 2D art that is not wired for hanging will incur a $10 wiring fee.

Pickup: All rejected artwork must be picked up within 5 days of rejection notification. All accepted artwork must be picked up within 5 days of the show’s end. Artwork may be picked up during gallery hours or by appointment. All artwork not picked up within these windows or precoordinated with our curator will incur a $10/day storage fee.

Non-refundable Submission Fee: $25 per piece/ $35 per oversized piece

Payment Methods: Cash or Card

Commission: 25% of sales price

Sales Payment: A check can either be picked up in person at the end of the show or will be mailed within 60 days of sale.

Liability: Every care is exercised in the handling of artworks, but Icon Modern Art Gallery is not responsible for loss or damage, whatever the cause. Concerned artists should carry their own insurance.

Taxes: Icon Modern Art Gallery acts as the agent for the artists to submit, exhibit, and sell artwork. Sales tax is collected and paid on each sale. Artists are responsible for compliance with income tax filing requirements related to the sale of their artwork

Cash Awards:

            Most Iconic: $500

            2nd Place: $200

            3rd Place: $100

 

Must be present at reception to receive prize.
